Between Showers

Summer rains...
I've gotta say...
I love 'em!

Yesterday was one of those days.
All day long it looked and felt like evening.
It was the kind of day that sent me straight to my sewing room...
and there I stayed!

I only ventured outside for animal chores,
and luckily they were timed when there was no rain falling.

A rainy day like yesterday saves me a ton of work
as I will not need to water the garden for a couple of days.
And when the sun comes back out again,
everything will be even more green and lush.
(and in need of mowing!)

In between the storms,
everyone came out to eat their meals...

and socialize.

I stopped in the garden to pick my dinner.

Sweet, sweet sugar peas....yummy right off the vine!
It's almost like having my own produce market.

We should eat kale every single day!
Fresh, fresh, fresh!

Oh, how I will miss this in the long winter months.

These need a little more time...teeny weeny.
Not bad for a quick picking between rain showers.

It's what's for dinner.

dinner looks yummy, we have been having showery days, I have just spent the time in the kitchen and then down the cabin sewing in between animal chores a good mix of everything :-)

For all of its threatening, we didn't get that much rain, sad to say. Your veggies look wonderful. Happy Friday ...PS what were you doing in the sewing room?

Plenty of "yum" in that container . . .
I am enjoying the rain showers too and GREEN non watering days.
Exception being the high wind tree uprooting storm that visited yesterday.

Hi Bev!

I am planning a garden for next year at a place I recently moved to. I love the design and lay-out of your garden. I was wondering if you could tell me the square footage? My last garden was roughly 64 square feet. I have over an acre to do with as I please here. So exciting!

Thanks!
