Cashmere Dreadlocks and an Elf Baby

Meet Missy.
She's one of our older fainting goats.
Normally Missy is quite a lovely goat.

However, at this time of year she is losing her luxurious winter coat.

Her face and chest and front legs have transitioned into summer...
the rest of her...stuck somewhere back in winter!
In the coming weeks she will lose all of this cashmere undercoat and be sleek again.

Now?....her very best Bob Marley imitation...
cashmere dreadlocks.

Well, I guess you can tell what she thinks of that!

We've had so much rain in the past two weeks...
the lilacs bloomed and I didn't have a chance to bring them indoors.
Yesterday I cut and armful.
What a delicious fragrance fills the house!

Yesterday we had a visit from Amanda.
Can you believe it's almost a year since her farm wedding?
Although the newlyweds have moved to Philadelphia,
she still works locally 2 days a week and so she spends a night each week at the farm.

Ginger is always so happy to see Amanda.
That's her favorite person.

I spent most of yesterday afternoon getting started on the week's mowing.

Thank goodness I have help!

It looks like Ginger's not the only one happy to see Amanda!

Look what she made me for Mother's Day...

An elf baby wrapped up in a flower petal for my fairy garden!
Adorable!
