Wow! What a Ride!

Yesterday, being a cold and damp day was the perfect day for staying indoors.

It's always good to snuggle with a friend on a cold, rainy day!

The dogs and I stayed inside most of the day and only ventured out to care for the animals.

The horses spent a little time in the front pasture...which still has not bounced back from winter.
It's trying, but we've had a lack of the sun and warmth that it needs to grow.

The horses don't seem to mind...
I think they just enjoy the change of scenery.

And of course they enjoy the chance to run!

I finished my first weaving project and planned my next one.

And although it looks pretty good from this angle...
don't be fooled...
there are plenty of "goofs" in this first try.
I hope to get better with practice.

Before beginning the second, however, I am going to finish a knitting project.
(I am not even going to tell you that a sewing project has been whirling around my
tiny little brain as well!....no, I won't tell you that.)

You all ask...how do I accomplish so much.
Well, my life is pretty simple from day to day...
animal chores and household chores...but surprisingly, they don't take as much time as
one might think.
There is always time left over to do the things I enjoy.
Yes, I get up at the crack of dawn.  But, bedtime comes around 10 PM.
I am always energetic in the morning...so that is when I accomplish the most.
By evening, I am ready to sit...but with sitting comes other activities...like knitting, or spinning, or weaving.
I long for more hours in every day... but life is like that and time can be elusive.

I love this quote...it's my mantra:

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!” ― Hunter S. Thompson

It's Friday again!
However does that happen?

We had planned a bicycle excursion for Sunday, but now with temperatures only in the 40's...
that activity will have to wait for warmer weather.

Monday is definitely shearing day for the sheep.
I cannot wait to share that with you!

Have a great weekend!

I love that saying yes life you only have one shot at it and you spending it complaining bout the weather, cleaning, dieting following the masses on the latest craze that's going to bring you life fulfillment and be bloody miserable or you can jump out of bed and shout hello world I am still here lets party :-)
Well, I think your woven scarf looks DAMN nice!

Your scarf looks wonderful! Since you are a fiber lover, have you ever thought of dying your yarn with plant dyes? I've been reading about it and though it looks like a lot of work, I think I am going to grow some dye pants this year.
have a great weekend! I can't wait to see your sheep naked:)
