Making Magic

There is no doubt in my mind that I live in a magical world...
no more magical than any other...
but, it's my world and I choose to see it in a magical light!

It takes quieting oneself...
sitting still...
and waiting for the magic to happen.

And it always does...
happen!

Yesterday, when I finished cleaning the dry lot and the front pasture,
I sat down in front of the barn with the horses.

Out in front of me Red was taking a snooze.

Watching him was entertaining in itself...

"Bed-head"
as he tried to find just the perfect pillow.

Right in front of me was Donnie...
with his head in my lap.

To my right was Moonbeam...

And behind me, Ollie...

hamming it up for the camera...

nibbling on my head...

messing up my hair...

then coming to rest on top of my head....

where he stayed for quite a while....

resting.
What you can't see is Moll curled up in my lap during most of this.
A truly magical moment...
that never would have happened if I hadn't taken the time to just sit amidst the horses.

There is magic in all of our worlds....
we need only to sit still and watch and listen!

I spent a little time yesterday morning finishing up my sewing project...

The cropped sweater is one that I knit last Autumn...
and gives this sleeveless dress a little warmth.

If I didn't need to spend so much time in work clothes,
I would dress much like a gypsy all of the time.
And if I won the lottery...
I would spend all of my free time playing here...

What a delightful post, Bev. The capture of Ollie on your head is frame-worthy. lol I know what you mean about being still and letting things happen. Your beautiful animals do make the best of it. And what a fun outfit you designed. I'm sure it's wonderful to get out of the overalls sometimes. Hugs to all. ("Hi Bobby") Deb

Your animals seem to love you as much as you love them! What a special moment. I love that outfit. I haven't done any garment sewing in years, but I've been thinking about starting again. You've given me some ideas:) Have a great weekend!
