I am so happy to share with you that Ivy has settled in to life in the farmhouse
quite nicely.
She has the run of the house,
with a kitty door into the utility room where her food and litter box are located.
She now reigns supreme over the house...
the dogs her lowly subjects.
We had a wonderful weekend here on the farm.
Saturday we held a celebration for Hubbs' (60th) and the twins' (30th) birthdays.
Four generations came together for a day of fun, food, and fellowship...
and it was a perfect day!
On the menu were Cuban Sliders (I added pulled pork to the recipe) , Mini Lasagne cups,
Broccoli salad, Tuna-Macaroni salad, Brussels Sprout/Clementine salad,
Caprese Orzo Salad, deviled eggs, giant strawberries, guacamole with corn chips
and desserts.
Needless to say, the kitchen was a busy place for two days prior to the party.
Mackenzie was aware of her big cousin, Tyler for the first time...
and she couldn't take her eyes,
or mouth off of him!
The dogs were quite happy with one of Hubbs' presents...a slingshot ball launcher!
Ready...aim... release...CHASE!!!
Oh what great fun!
(Sunday was spent at Mackenzie's house while her Daddy and her Uncle Tim
brewed a homemade batch of beer.)
By late Sunday afternoon we were back at the farm.
The chickens were the lucky recipients of kitchen scraps from the party,
as well as grains left from brewing the beer.
And they had a party of their own!
We are going to have weather in the 50's, 60's, and 70's this coming week.
Sunshine will be welcome for sure...
and lots of garden work is on the week's list.
Spring is almost here!
Time to get to work!!

Ivy sure has adjusted well. Now don't forget there is someone back at the shelter waiting for you and to try out that new slingshot. 😀
Happy birthday to all!!
Have a great week!
So glad you will be having spring weather. Can't wait to read about your gardening projects this year!
It must be wonderful to have so much room to host a big party like that! How fun!
I never knew that chickens eat so many different things! Do they actually eat the egg shells? I guess it's good for them?
