Mama Said There'd Be Days Like This....

Most days come and go with a peaceful sense of contentment.
And then, just once in a great while,
a day comes along that turns my world on its side.

I should have known what I was in for early yesterday morning.
I should have gone back to bed.
Or hid my head...

In the future, I just might.
But yesterday.... well, yesterday was just one of those days...
and I had no idea when it first started out!

Let's play a game...
I'll give you two hints that pertain to how yesterday began,
and you see if you can guess.
OK?

Hint #1:

Hint#2:

Could you guess?
If you have read my blog for a long time,
you might be able to put two and two together.

Yep... that's right...
Oakley got skunked....again!
He'll never learn.
Never.  Ever.  Ever.
Luckily, I have the perfect skunk kit...works every time!

But wait, there's more!

Usually when I am working around the barn,
the scene in the yard outside is this...

yesterday, however, there were no dogs.
We all left the house together.
They ran alongside the gator.
But at some point, I realized they had gone on without me... to where?...who knows!
Oakley, I would soon find out, was skunk hunting.

Annie and Sam had disappeared into thin air.
When chores were finished, Oakley and I went home.
(and got de-skunked)
A couple hours passed and no Annie or Sam.

Then, the mother of this lovely young lady...

(whose senior portraits I shot around the farm last Friday)
came to pick up her photos.
She remarked that she had seen Sam and Annie about 3 miles up the road...
almost to the next county!

Needless to say, I hopped in the car and drove up the road to find
the two of them, knapsacks over their shoulders...
hitting the open road...
off on some cockamamie adventure.
Said adventure was abruptly interrupted,
and two dogs were loaded into the car and taken home.
Three dogs are now on house arrest.

As if all of the dog adventures weren't enough....
mid morning I received a call that Hubbs had been taken to the ER.
Luckily, he had been working in the hospital at the time...
was overcome by vertigo and nausea.
So, I hopped back in the car and drove to the city to pick him up.
He's fine now...medications worked wonders.
So, you see, while my world was sideways, his was turned upside down.

All's well that ends well.

I ended my day at Tyler's soccer game.
Yes, it's that season again.

If you remember old "Crazy Legs" from last year...
not much has changed.
Except perhaps the fact that this year he loves the little girls!

Oh my goodness . I am glad your hubs is ok and that you have found the adventurers safe and sound as well . As for the Oakley who thinks a skunk is a toy silly thing hope he gets the picture of it all soon and stops trying to catch them lol ! . Thanks for sharing , hope the rest of your week is stress free and a bit simpler .

My first thought was that one of the Kunes and Oakley had gotten into a fight. Pigs, despite their size are often on the sad end of a fight like that. Oddly, I was glad to read that it was a skunk.
Maybe the cooler air is causing the dogs to go on a walk-about??
Glad Hubs is okay. Hope it was nothing to worry about.
