It never ceases to amaze me how comfortable our barn kitties
are with life around the barn.
I often see them wandering around through horses' legs...
completely unafraid.
Example...
Here is TomTom, lounging in the dry lot, just feet away from
several horses' hooves.
Without a care in the world...
And then there is the fact that these sweet equines have never
shown any aggression towards the cats.
"Barn cats" might give you the wrong impression.
These kitties live as well as most house cats.
They are neutered or spayed and up to date on all vaccines.
(Many "barn cats" cannot boast the same...but to have
less care than this seems negligent to me.)
They each have a bed, dry food and water available 24/7,
and a heat lamp during the winter months.
Spoiled. Cats. For. Sure.
I will give them credit, though.
They keep our barn mouse-free (at least as far as I can tell.)
They thank us with offerings of rats, squirrels, voles, mice and other
creatures that could easily over-run us.
Believe it or not, a well-fed cat makes the best mouser.
It's true.
Well, we have reached another weekend.
This week flew by quickly and was delightfully filled with baby days.
This weekend I am heading to Ohio with girlfriends
for a "girls' weekend" at the Country Living Fair in Columbus.
I have wanted to attend one of these for years...and finally am getting my wish.
I'll be back Monday to tell you all about it...
and to fill you in on Hubbs' weekend caring for the farm.
Hopefully, his weekend with be uneventful!

Enjoy your time off!
Happy you take "good care" of your "mouser" Barn Cats . . .
I would say CONTENT is their word!
