Back On Course

Between you and me, yesterday morning hit me like a brick wall.
All that I had worked toward for the past year was over.
Boom.
Just like that.

I awoke with the realization that life was about to change.
I'm not saying that change is bad....change is just change...
a time to re-work, re-think, set new priorities.
We've had at least one of our kids living with us for the past 5 years!

And so I set about to start a new week without mile-long lists.

I worked on laundry (every sheet and towel in the house had been used over the weekend).
I'll be continuing the laundry today as well!

I took my time doing animal chores, and spent some time just lounging with my friends.

How nice it felt to just kick back and enjoy my surroundings!

There is hardly any reminder of how things looked just two short days ago.
The flooded dance floor wilted a patch of grass,
but that will grow back perfectly with the help of sunlight.

The only remaining clues that anything special happened on this farm
are the continued presence of the portable luxury bathrooms...
(and although they are pretty darn amazing,
I am ready to enjoy my adorable little outhouse once again!)
and the frisbee golf baskets in the goat pasture.

I spent a few moments lying on my back watching the clouds,
with Moll cat beside me...

and sitting with the lambs.

I might just get used to a slower paced life once again!

I worked in the garden for a while...
picking supper for last night...

and tonight.

And so, as I start this new time in life...
this quieter time...
I am going to be present in every moment, taking the time to create a little magic whenever possible.

If you would like to see the sneak peak of wedding photos from Philter Photography...
They are pretty spectacular!
Tell me your favorite!

Loved all the pics. Keep going back to look at Amanda's gown. Did you make it and the bridesmaids dresses?. I bet it will take you a bit to adjust to a new norm but one thing I know for sure.....you will never be bored! I will,be waiting right here to go on the next adventure with you.

Something special happens on your farm EVERY day!! As for the pictures, could not possibly pick a favorite. I love any of the ones where Amanda is laughing and the one where Tim sees her for the first time. Says a lot. Beautiful photographs.

That has to be the coolest wedding ever! The serious photos of the couple by the barn are gorgeous, but my favorites are the flower girls (assume grandmothers)!!!!! Good job.

I love the vintage look of the wedding! The dresses....just adorable. Fabulous pictures...he is indeed a great photographer...not that you would have chosen otherwise. Love the couple pictures at the old cabin. Not a bad one in the bunch. I love the spontaneity of his shots. Great ones of the couple.

What a great time to "slow down" and ponder the days that past and count your blessings for all the goodness in your life.
Choose a favorite photo? That's a tough one. The beautiful smiles on Tim and Amanda's face are wonderful but if I have to choose I am going with the one of them sitting on the log home step. Gorgeous and meaningful.

So so many beautiful photos, what an amazing photographer! It was hard to pick, but I think my two favorites would be the one would by the old house standing in front of the door. Looks very romantic. Also the one with Amanda being walked down the aisle, partly because thinking of my own wedding day, that is one of the very special and highly emotional moments on your wedding day.-Stephanie D.

I also would like to say thank you, thank you for sharing with us your daughter's special day. It was absolutely amazing! I always get a little teary eyed even just looking at wedding photos. Even having never met you in person.-Stephanie D.

Just enjoy the quiet times now, and remember the new baby coming.

It was a beautiful wedding, all the work you did was worth it. Well done.

You still have all these wonderful animals who love you to bits, just look at the lambs faces...

You deserve a rest.

I am so happy that you are enjoying those first days of "new life". I hope you can enjoy every moment of the time alone with your sweet critters now that the wedding hoopla is behind you. Off to look at the pictures-I couldn't' get the link to open a minute ago....will try again. Have a wonderful new week! xo Diana

Finally got the photos to open for me. I LOVE the one of her laughing right out loud with the teardrop decorations in front of her. xo Diana
You deserve some time to yourself after producing such a fab wedding event as that! The photos are stunning. My fave is the one where the bride and groom are standing in front of the log house's door.
And I also like how all the guests were dressed comfortably and casually. No gowns and penguin suits!

Brick Wall . . . bet that is true . . . you planned, worked on, planned and worked even more and provided an absolutely wonderful wedding experience. Well done Beverly . . . take time to relish the quiet, gaze at some clouds, (without rain showers) and remember the joy and smiles . . .
Wonderful photos, I loved her bouquet, bridesmaid dresses, tug of war . . . many more!

Annie looks as shocked as you are...where's all the action? I bet the photographer never had to say "smile" to Saturday's group...so happy. An unforgettable time. Ann

All the photos are amazing & really captured each & every moment as well as conveying everyone's emotions. It is hard to pick one favorite, but the one of Amanda & Tim sitting on the steps of the old log cabin is the one I kept coming back to - their expressions as they look at one another speaks volumes of their love for one another & makes me think of the potential they have to make one another's life incredibly richer. My hope for them is that they adore & respect one another every bit as much as they celebrate each anniversary.
