Garden Tour...Before

Your first garden tour of the season...
my apologies for the wind.
We seem to have a lot of that these days.

In about a month I will give you another tour
and you will be amazed at the difference!

I love this time of year on your farm. Everything looks ready to explode when the hot sun of June appears. Although I always enjoy all your post this one was extra special. I felt like I was actually walking along in the garden.

Thanks for the tour and the info that went along with it. What a lot of work and planning. Sure is going to be a beautiful setting for a wedding.

Loved the video . I enjoyed walking with you here . Your gardens will be lovely once again this year as everything grows ! Your cedar boxes , to keep them lasting longer you can stain them with a weather treated stain , staining wood protects it from the elements ! We have always been told not to use pressure treated wood in gardens as the treatment can leak over time from the wood and it poisons the soil the plants are in and will kill them and contaminate the soil . Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !

Thanks for the wonderful tour......I like to see what vegetables you group together. You may have mentioned in a previous post, but what kind of grape do you have growing and what is the care?

It's so beautiful and peaceful!

Have you looked into the galvanized corrugated metal garden beds? I lopive in Florida and the cedar beds rotted out in a year, well at least their legs did. The corrugated metal beds are really attractive and in their second year still look brand new. They dont cook the soil as some people think. I have to get some flowers growing!

Your blog always gives me such a nice escape from my day. I log on on my lunch hour to see your beautiful place and sweet pets. I've been an office worker for almost 30 years now and day dream about the day I can have some acres of my own and spend my days outside instead of under fluorescent lights and AC. I'd love to have my own senior dog rescue and rescue farm animals too. Your gardens are beautiful!

Your garden amazes me every year. Mine grew this year too and I had so much fun figuring out a unique fence and gate...but I can't wait for the veggies! LOL

Wow .,.. Marvelous garden! Thank you for the lovely tour and peek at everything. You must have a super green thumb.....your flowers are growing and filling in so well....your vegetables are looking healthy! I love the idea of the boxes! Everything looks so weedless! You are a hard worker!!! I can't wait to see the next tour!

Thank you for the "before" tour!!
I can't wait to see how everything fills out. =)

I may have missed it, but I was wondering why you use raised boxes for your veggies and fruit? Is it more beneficial or is the ground you have there in the garden not very good for raising veggies and fruit?

Our soil is fine here....I do raised beds because it is so much easier. The ground stays soft...it's easier to weed and with the right planning, you can pack a lot into a small space. I love this type of gardening!! Much easier on the back.

What a beautiful day for a garden tour! Y'all will be eating well for another season. I've heard about raised bed boxes made from recycled plastic. I bet they would last forever, but wonder if the plastic leeches.
Thank you for showing us around. Looking forward to seeing it all fill in.
Enjoy your weekend.

Thank you! I never knew there was a choice, probably because I've never grown my own veggies! Hopefully someday! =)
