This Is What Grounds Me

There are times when life is so busy....
full calendars...
days filled with activity...
long lists of chores...
busy-ness.

What grounds me is this...

My friends keep my feet on the ground....

my heart beating steadily...

my blood pressure low...

They give me their undivided attention,
their warmth, their comfort, their affection.

And with this, life slows down again.
They always know exactly what I need.

It was a whirlwind weekend...
Saturday was filled with a craft fair in the quaintest of quaint small towns,
And Sunday, a bridal shower for Amanda.
My time with my friends was short, but sweet.
I will be making up for it throughout the coming week, however!

I did find a little extra time Sunday morning to bake these:

I have to tell you...their recipes are always the best,
with detailed instructions...
absolutely fool-proof!

Oh, so yummy!!

What sweet faces!! I have a bridal shower coming up as well. My son is getting married in June. We are in a whirlwind wedding planning mode, it's June 20th and a week of May we will be on vacation in Alabama so at least a week to relax with the soon to be married couple then back at it. Have a great week!

I agree one thousand percent! Sometimes I just go hang out with the donkey or the horses or the goats or the kunekune and I immediately feel my shoulders drop and my muscles unclench. They are absolutely the best medicine for what ails you.
