The Sky Is Falling!

Weekend temps in the mid-30's brought a little melting to the farm.
When the snow starts to melt,
the build-up of ice and snow on the barn roof begins a slow descent over
the edge of the roof and onto the gutters.

We try to keep this snow and ice cleaned off...
to spare the gutters and also to keep avalanches from falling on the horses.

So.... we manually cause an avalanche.
And when we are doing this, the horses steer clear!

Very, very scary!

I finished another knitting project that was a special order....

This is the Dragon Watcher's Hood with Viking horns.

That's not a fun job especially with old snow. Love the new hood cute horns...there must be a story that goes with that. You have a wonderful week. Hope we have some sunshine along the way.

I don't think I would want snow falling on me, so they are smart to stay away.

I bought the book Woodland Knits, now just get the thumb in working order. Maybe by next Fall I will have my Dragon Watcher Hood!! Minus the viking horns!!

Stay warm, looks really cold outside! Burrr!! Hugs!

Motto: "Better safe than sorry." Very cute video! And Moonbeam has an incredibly lovely face; perfect, beautiful symmetry.

Missy George Love the hoodie ! I'm sure there's a story behind that. Tough getting old snow off of the roof or any snow for that matter. I'd be running too.have a wonderful week I hope there is some sunshine in there. Hugs

I just remembered to check for your reply regarding my question on the gas drilling. I am glad you are not in the drilling area! New Yorkers dodged a big bullet when Governor Cuomo banned fracking in New York State. My friends and I are so happy about this. I have my farm in the Grasslands Reserve Program, so my farm is protected forever from drilling and development. Your knitting is beautiful!
