On Gratitude

I read something yesterday...
something so simple, and yet it felt so profound...

These three words kept creeping into my thoughts all day,
and so I decided to share them with you.

After much contemplation,
I have decided that these three words just might be the key to happiness.
Truly!

What would any day look like...
if when we first opened our eyes,
we filled our consciousness with gratitude?

Face it, no matter what our situations,
there is always much to be grateful for.

Think about it.
Make a mental list of things to be grateful for...
start with the big things and then add the small things.

Your list will become amazingly long!

I am truly grateful to be living in a world where all things are possible.
I am grateful for the obvious...health, family, friends, farm...my list is long.

At any given moment I can find something to be grateful for...
like a leftover summer rosebud decorated with the tiniest of spiders' webs
 on a sunny November day...

From this day forward,
I am making this my mantra...

Gratitude Changes Everything!

How could it not?

PS...I'm grateful for you!

I'm grateful for you too! I find many many things in the run of a day to be grateful for. And once in a while I have to remind myself of how much worse things could really be and that makes me more grateful all over again!! BTW I really like your sweatshirt.

Each morning when I rise, as my feet hit the floor, first one and then the other, I silently say "Thank You". It's a great way to start the day!

We always end the day with saying what we are grateful for. It's on our minds all through the day. I'm always thinking "I'll have to remember this for tonight's gratitudes.".

That is the absolute truth! Every evening as I lay on my pillow, I give thanks for the big and small things in my life and before I can even finish.....I'm asleep! That alone is something to be thankful for! And I agree with Colleen....lovin the sweatshirt!

I heartily agree!! I've tried to keep an "attitude of gratitude" for some time now. Some days it's easier than others, but you're right, consciously count your blessings and the list becomes mighty long in a hurry. It is Biblical you know...off the top of my head I don't remember the precise verses, but in many different books of the Bible, it says this very thing. It's never too late to realize this! Blessings!!

Every morning as I walk the dogs I silently recite St Patrick's prayer and then list my blessings. It's a great way to adjust your mindset, not being much of a morning person my mindset often needs it!

I am a new subscriber to your Blog and find it fascinating - these three words - Gratitude Changes Everything! - could certainly change our total way of thinking/living if we would only follow them. I so appreciate your Blog and look forward to reading it each and every morning.
