A Walk On The Wild Side....Week 5

We have an overnight guest for the better part of a week.
Sam, Andy and Ashley's lab (rescue) is staying with us
while Andy and Ashley are away.

It was a little tense at first...with male dogs getting a little territorial,
but by the first evening things had calmed down...
and by yesterday they were all pals.

And so we all went for a hike...

into the woods to gather the game cameras...
and to see what critters we caught on camera this past week.

On camera 1...on the edge of the 100 acre wood...
(I love this first picture!)

There were several bunnies....

Half of the pictures from this camera were of this fellow...
a very busy opossum...or perhaps a whole family of them!

 a fox...

Camera #2 remained at the same location where I spotted that 12 point buck last week.
This week the buck was no where to be seen.

In fact, there were very few deer at this location this week...
so I will be moving that camera to another location.

I did catch Hubbs on a walk with the dogs...

Most of the pictures were of these little guys....
gathering nuts for the winter.

And, new for this week...
Mrs. Raccoon!

Thanks for stopping by to check out our wildings!
Have a great weekend!

I guess the deer are on the move. Running from the hunters. Have a wonderful weekend.

Oh how fun to have a Night Cam..
Like you we have raccoons, deer (rats w/antlers) and both ground & tree squirrels.. not to mention other critters... Our deer have been wondering around a lot lately, (do to drought) and munching on our trees, and last of the season harvest of tomatoes... they even eat the bird seed out of the flat feeders, oh well, is is what it is.. I leave a bucket of water out each night for them to drink, we have 17 at last count walking around our road... in search of water and food, as the small lakes around here are nearly dried up to mud holes... On the plus side, it's been raining since yesterday,,, and we so need it, so if you have any spare rain, feel free to send it our way! We will gladly take it! hugz

What fun! Loving seeing what is on the cameras! I have my camera by our woodshed and am catching chipmunks, squirrels, a raccoon, and cats (not sure if they are feral or someone's long ranging pets). I guess tomorrow I will put it on a trail in our woods to see what is going on there. I once got great pictures of a doe with triplets! I'd sure like to catch a buck half as good as some of yours!
