The Standoff

Maddie, our Newfie, spends most of her day going in and out of the house.

Although she is a house dog,
her thick winter coat gets her a little overheated.
So, often during the day she asks to go outside.

One of her favorite place is the garage,
where she has a comfy bed, food and water.

(Our dogs have always been on "demand" feeding, so they just nibble a little
throughout the day.  There is also a feeding/water station in our laundry room.)

Every afternoon the roosters visit the garage
and the following happens....

Oh poor Maddie trying to tell the roosters to bug off . I loved hearing them crow . Our Miggs is the same she has a thick shaggy coat and puts the beef on for the winters as she loves to be out in the snow and she is an in and out dog to as she gets to hot in the house . Miggs lays under our car port which is attached to the back porch where she likes to lay outside the kitchen door ! Thanks for sharing . Have a good weekend !

I'm pretty sure Maddie is winning! Those Roos are so funny for they keep trying. It s a good thing you live in the country with those boys voices. If you lived in town they would have to hit the road. No roos disturbing the neighbors allow. So i don't get to enjoy waking up their call. Give Maddie an extra hugs for being the defender!! Keep warm this weekend, Hugs!!

Mollie went nuts!! Cute post... Is that Maddies "house bark"?
Have a good weekend..

Actually, in the last year, Maddie lost her "big girl bark".....:(
Oh sweet Maddie. That's a lot of rooster energy to chase away but she does a good job. Those roos look like their feet were cold on that floor. And I love how you can see everyone's breath when they bark and crow.

LOL.. notice the food is so much more interesting once the roosters have taken an interest. Love how she tells them no.
Oh this gave me such a laugh... Silly chickens.. Maddie is so adorable.
