Lawnmower Contemplations

The photos and the prose in this post will go together
about as well as the two words in today's title.
(Google "lawnmower contemplations" and you will find nothing!)

You see, lawn mowing, as with most farm chores, is relatively mindless.
It is during these chores that my guinea brain is free to wander...
sometimes traipsing into the philosophical world.

(Waldorf's tail is finally growing back!)
Yesterday's voyage took me deep into the subject of happiness.
I thought I would share some musings with you.

It seems that so many are in a constant search for happiness...
and the next best thing, place or person that might provide it for them.

Happiness, I think, is something deep within...
a condition that we choose.

If happiness were dependent upon our circumstances...
(those tenuous states of life that are constantly subject to change)..
then happiness for all of us would be fleeting,
and for some, unattainable.

And yet... it isn't.
To me, happiness is not a "mood"...
although we can "feel" happy or sad at any given moment.

For me, true happiness is the realization that each and every day is a gift.
(All of us has a finite amount of days...and we never know how many we have.)
For me, the gift of a day brings with it the responsibility to make it the best day possible.
It is gratitude for that gift that inspires me.

And so I greet this morning with gratitude and vow to make it the best day possible.
I wish the same for you!!

Now, back to the business of mowing and dreaming and scheming!!

Amen! I shared a quick photo/blurb about this very thing on Facebook the other day... 'Happiness is an Attitude. We either make ourselves miserable or happy and strong; the amount of work is the same.' by Francesca Reigler

If it's the same amount of work why not choose happy?! And yes, if we chose to be happy because of circumstances most of us would not be happy because there is always something that can bring ya' down.

Have a happy day!

I sure do my part in the dreaming world. Everyday I have a 20minute drive to work and that is my chance to dream and scheme. Thanks for the reminder to make everyday the best possible. Sometimes I need that extra kick start, but Mr beautiful sunrise sure did the trick this morning. Hugs!!

Beautiful photos! This subject matter came to mind yesterday, when I heard my ex had a heart attack. We are the same age. I want to embrace each day, making each one special. Thanks for the heads up.

Wonderful post! My happiness today comes from the fact that although I need to get on my mower and mow a couple of acres, I can't because it is too wet and we're expecting more rain today. In SW OKLAHOMA!!!!!! In AUGUST!!!!! That's something to smile about, let me tell you. We got over 3 inches night before last. That NEVER happens. Well, not never... :D

Many don't find or feel 'true happiness' until they are older. It took me decades and decades to truly be happy.

I can't mow because I am dangerous to myself and others on a mower, but I have heard many people say that they find mowing to be a very relaxing pastime for them.

I guess there are all kinds of happiness.

Hey, did you freeze your sauce in Mason jars? How did that work? My daughter had a couple jars break on her in the freezer.
