There is a benefit to keeping the animals on a fairly tight schedule.
Schedules make animals secure.
They know what is going to happen and when it is going to happen.
The benefit to me in all of this is that I can expect a certain level
of cooperation from them.
We all have expectations, the animals and me....
and keeping on schedule helps us to meet all of our expectations.
For example, I leave the horses out to graze in the front pasture at about the same time
every day.
And then a couple hours later, I bring them back in for their feed.
And, as you can see...
they all pretty much cooperate.
With 7 equines, it would be complete bedlam if they didn't!
You might have noticed, though, that Scarlet does things her own way.
What you didn't see was that the donkeys also headed into their dry lot,
without any cajoling....such good girls!

I had a visitor yesterday during chore time.
Hunter, whose Pappy (Sam) helps me with the mowing, was my sidekick
while his Pappy cut the grass.
He scooped poop...
gathered eggs....
and fed the goats...
all the while entertaining me with stories about his family and friends.
I had forgotten how much enthusiasm 6 year old boys have!
What fun we had... now I know what I can look forward to as Tyler gets older!
As I was driving the gator back home after chores,
I passed the garden and this scene caught my eye...
Every kitty should have her own rocker, and her own front porch,
don't you think?
And lastly, I must tell you that I am having a bit of an adventure tonight...
I will be sure to share the details later this week!!
Fun, fun, fun!!

The kitty sitting in the rocker on the front porch is adorable! SO cute! One of my kitties absolutely loved our front porch back home. She was quite content to never leave except on very cold nights and when she went outside to use the potty.
Scarlet, Scarlet, Scarlet... there's always one in the bunch!
Have fun tonight!
