Laundry Day

I would be willing to bet that no one out there
spent yesterday morning like this....

hanging laundry out to dry in the company of...
well...
a couple of old turkeys and one very lazy barn/garage cat.

It seems that Bobby has permanently made the garage his home.
He's a great mouser, so I'm not complaining.

It was a spectacular morning...

warm and sunny.
So, I parked the gator at the barn and decided to walk home.

I was followed.
Hence the help with laundry.

For the next few trips out to the barn, I rode my bike.

A stop with Ginger and MaryAnn...

for our daily "belly rubbins".

A visit with the baby goats,
and Gracie is quite curious about my shoelaces.

And look who decides to be a little more friendly...

This is the closest that little Andy has gotten to me on his own.

These two are growing up way too fast!
Notice how big his little horns have gotten.

And last I wanted to show you their Mama, Missy,
who is shedding her winter coat in this warm weather.
This gives me a good opportunity to show you a great example of moon spots.

Moon spots are dark spots on the skin that don't show up as dark spots on the fur.

PS... The chicklets have moved back into the spacious brooder house.
I am happy to report that all is well... no more losses.
This past weekend I went over the house with a fine toothed comb, looking for any tiny
crevices that could allow access to a predator.

With everything sealed tight as a drum,
I feel quite confident this batch of chicks will grow up into lovely hens
(and maybe a few surprise roos, too.)

This Spring weather gives me the opportunity to decrease my carbon footprint...
hanging wash on the line,
and taking my bike to "work"!

Love a gal who hangs her sheets out to dry . . . (the sentence sounds a bit off . . . but you know what I mean.). The beautuful day is evident especially with the look of that "little mouser!"

One of my favorite things to do is hang laundry on the line while listening to the chickens, birds, nature, Hunter (the cat) under my feet and just soaking up the outdoors. How fun it would be to have a couple of turkeys hangin' around too, lol!

I was hanging our laundry outside this weekend, but instead of turkeys I was accompanied by two dogs. :-)

Our boxers have moon spots. Sort of like huge freckles on the skin beneath their fur that shows through. Love that your goat has them too. :)

Yesterday was simply gorgeous weather here as well and today is looking very much like a repeat. Enjoy your day, Bev!

A great day on Bee Haven Acres! The photo shot of the turkeys and the cat in front of the hanging laundry is awesome. The photo made me break out into a smile. You are right, not many of us have days like that one.

Would you allow me to host that photo on my Wordless Wednesday post? Credit to you will be given and a link to your blog-I think this would be a fun photo.

If you are interested let me know.

Happy spring!

Love your carbon footprint! The laundry always smells so good dried on the line! Those little goats are just darling!
What a wonderful day! The laundry pics look like the turkies are inspecting and the cat's blowin off the job.

Since you named your baby goats, does this mean you are keeping them? Who could resist? It would be hard to say good bye to those cuties.
