St. Pat, The Sicilian Patron Saint of Long Ears

It wouldn't be a holiday without a party!
So, naturally we had a little St. Patty's celebration yesterday.

The girls never mind dressing up for a party.

Chloe:  "Where's the green beer?"

Daphne:    "I could have sworn you said we were from Sicily!...
Our ancestors are rolling over in their graves!"

And yes, I took those pictures yesterday....

after watching the snow fly all day Saturday.

There was only one of us happy to see more snow...
Sadie, our Bernese Mountain dog.

She's always happiest with a pile of snow to lie in....
and what better entertainment than the guineas!

With any luck, by the time you read this we will be well on our way
towards melting.
Once this snow is gone, I will start the process of waking up our garden
and preparing the boxes for early spring crops.
Mmmmmmm, I can almost taste those crisp snap peas, spinach, broccoli, kale and chard.
We PA farmers would call this the "onion" snow...last snow of the year and time
to get your onion sets into the ground!

LOL what adorable photos! Sorry you're all still getting snow.. Down here in South Carolina the weather is just messin with us now.. This weekend was in the 80's both Sat and Sunday an now this weekend we are trending down into the 50's, cold raw rain and 20's at night.. and here I thought Spring was arriving.. My poor fruit trees aren't going to survive this..

Do you see me doing the happy dance? Well I am over the pics of my love - SADDIE!!!! If only I could reach through this screen and pat her on the head and give her a great big hug, swoon!

I woke my garden boxes up yesterday. Now I can only hope for some dry weather so I can get to planting my cold weather seeds = peas, Walla Walla onions and more peas!!! I know I should try chard but it's so bitter my little taste buds rebel! Here's to a great week!!!!

Sadie would love it here today. Blowing snow and -10 wind chill. We won't be above freezing again until sometime next week. :(

hold on for a bit...i heard we have t least 2 more weeks of this weather. we are having an ice event today!
Everybody is a little Irish on St. Patrick's Day. We are getting another snow storm tomorrow. There could be up to 10 inches. I don't think there will be anybody planting anything anytime soon here in Massachusetts.
