This And That

I am sure by now you realize that I love, love, love Autumn!
Truly, though, what's not to love?

Hydrangeas are at their peak...

The Purple Beauty Berry is blooming....

Tall grasses have sent beautiful plumes skyward...

And my favorite of all Autumn flowers, the aster is in all its splendor....

Isn't this earth an amazing place?
I am just about as happy as a gal can be!

I caught MaryAnn "working it" for the camera yesterday...
like a swimsuit model on the beach!

Yea, that's it, baby, give me a little coy smile!
And oh, those pigpen eyes!

Oh TomTom, you look at Leo with such adoring eyes!

Nothing like a little piggie to interrupt kitty love.

I wanted to show you what has taken over the herb box in our garden....

This mass of green vegetation is horseradish...
tons of horseradish.
I can only imagine the size of this root...
I will dig it up soon and show you.
Need any?

And last but not least...
I have had a few questions lately about Moonbeam.
Actually the questions have been 'am I still riding?'
Confession... no.
Not riding.
I have no excuses.... well, actually I have lots of excuses...
none of them are good ones.

Now look at this face.
Is this the face of a bucking bronco?
No.
And yet....he does.
The end.

I can't get over how beautiful Moonbeam is! He's one of the most beautiful horses I've seen. Your farm is delightful.
I always replace the bottle of horse radish in my fridge once a year. Every year for Easter brunch I make Blood Mary's. Then the jar stays until I get a new one the week before Easter. I love the taste in the drink, but don't know what else to use it in. Great photos, Moonbeam is especially pretty.

Lovely photos and post ! I to love the wild flowers of fall ! Moonbeam is beautiful . My sister has a Haflinger named Ziggy and rides him every day she lives in a town far away and boards her horse 10 min away from her she is 58, has always had horses and is still taking riding lessons , her Ziggy is soo calm and placid the way Haflingers were bred to be ! We have a Haflinger breeder not far from us . Have a great day !

Colorful . . . Beautiful . . . Delightful . . . Tender . . . Endearing . . . You have it all . . . great post!
Is it possible he's got back trouble? If not, would it be possible to send him to a training facility for three months this winter and have them get the bugs out? For lack of a better term.

And... have you ever tried driving? I have driven my minis and absolutely love it, it's perhaps an option for you too.

Purple Beauty Berry, is beautiful but I've never heard of it. Is it edible? We always grow horseradish in solid containers (with drainage) use it on ham as well.

How pretty the Fall flowers are. I have a friend who puts up horseradish every year. Believe it or not but they throw roots into an old fashion ringer washer to wash them. They run then trough a couple of time. Then it is grind and what ever they do. Boy is it good! There's isn't to hot and I use it on everything. Even as salad dressing , yum,yum the flavor. By the way it can be a obnoxious weed around here. So keep a watch!
Hi Beverly,
Such a lovely post.
Moombeam is such a beautiful horse.

1 part finely shredded Horseradish
3 parts Sour Cream
2 parts Cream Cheese
Dash of Salt

Nice and hot - Calamari that was breaded and shaken in a sieve just before being deep fried in peanut oil for only 1 minute!
