Autumn Decorating

Brrrrr... it has been in the 40's for the past two mornings' chores.
I'm not complaining, though...
I welcome Autumn with open arms.

I have to say, though, that this weather has put me in the mood for Autumn decorating.
I took a trip to a local farm and came home with a trunk full of pumpkins.

Pumpkins, hay bales, and corn stalks from the garden...

perfect seasonal decor.

Yesterday morning I cleaned the pasture (picked up manure)
while the horses and donkeys were grazing.

One of the differences between the two species, that I have noticed,
is that donkeys are so much more curious than horses.

Most of the time horses act as if they could care less...
unless it involves food or another horse!

Donkeys, on the other hand, will forget about eating if there is something more interesting...
like a gator.
The gator was filled with manure and weeds that I had pulled.

Daphne:"Hmmmmmm....looks tasty!"

Chloe:  "Breakfast!  Thanks for serving us, Mom!"

Me:  "Hey, guys, this is a manure wagon, not a lunch wagon!"

Chloe:  "Oh, but so tasty...
and easier than bending down and eating from the ground!"

It cracks me up how equines use their lips like fingers (see above)...

Needless to say, it sometimes takes me longer to do chores than it should...
but the entertainment is so wonderful!

I have had a lot of questions about aprons, lately.
I do have quite a few for sale....I just have not had time to get them listed.
I have several new 40's style farm aprons,
and this little chicken/egg apron that I just finished...
perfect for serving up a big farm style breakfast!!

Love the apron! Yes I find that the donkeys are curious like the goats. It's almost impossible to take pictures of them since they want to check out the camera.

Good morning, Bev! Yes, Autumn is truly here. I have had frost here the last few mornings and some plants are frost bit. It is to warm up again this weekend, just in time for my Sisters Roundup here at my house.

Your donkeys are just the cutest!

How cheery is that apron, love it! If I ever had a farm I would so want donkeys. I enjoy all your pictures of them. I've got my heals dug in that it isn't Fall just yet. I think I'm losing this battle. I'm still wanting Summer to stay. Figures crossed the last of the tomatoes ripen! Have a great day! hugs!!

I'm just curious as to how you tell Daphne from Chloe? I ask because it looks like a little "X" on the tip of Daphne's nose on that first close-up! I was even estimating the size of white circles around their eyes...
