You've Got to Have Friends

One of life's greatest treasures are our friends.
The best of friends are those who are patient and kind,
and tolerate (celebrate) our differences.

One of the things that warms my heart here on the farm,
is how our animals are trans-species friends.
No one seems to mind their differences,
treating each other with mutual respect and even admiration.

I've been accused of giving human traits to animals many times,
but those of you who have various critters of your own will agree that
we all share so many characteristics...
humans and animals....
emotions especially, I think!

I spent quite a bit of time raking the hay yesterday...

enjoying the vistas....

helping the hay to dry with this old trusty rake
(that I have already broke once this week!)

With any luck, we will be able to bale and store this hay sometime this weekend.
(YAY!)

On the way back from the hayfield, I stopped to pick the first of this summer's blueberries.

This is just the beginning, with many more pickings to come.

Before heading back to the house,
we stopped for a visit with Ginger and MaryAnn.

A kiss from MaryAnn....

and Sammy asked for more....

"I love you, MaryAnn" he said.

These scenes happen all the time and warm my heart.
It is my favorite part of farm life....

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
We will be baling hay, hopefully!
See you Monday with more Tails from the Farm!

See how Sammy smiles?

Our animals all run together on a pasture and share a barn together. I think I hear a collective sigh every time I add a new critter as if the animals are saying, "Really? Now this??!!!" :) Stevie@ruffledfeathersandspilledmilk.com
