Piggy Love

I have to admit something to you.
I am quite smitten.
I love all of our animals...each one unique in its personality.
But of all of them, I have to admit I am head over heels in love with my piggies.
Ginger and MaryAnn are the sweetest, most personable animals...
so much like dogs are.

Anytime I enter their yard, they immediately come over to visit with me.

And if I happen to rub their bellies or behind their ears,

they fall to the ground and lie there completely relaxed until I am finished.

They are just the cutest creatures on the face of this earth!
( I suppose you might think otherwise...but after all, I am their Mom!)

MaryAnn seems to be most interested in human contact.
She is always the first to greet me and the last to leave....

Who says an animal has to be the furry, fluffy, cuddly kind to love? I think pigs are cute, too.
Such sweet and happy girls. I thought these type of pigs weren't as prone to rutting (is that correct?) as other breeds. I guess it's all relative, isn't it?

Scientists have documented a pig language of sorts, and pigs will play with toys and have favorites, and have been observed coming to the aid of other pigs in distress. Cognitive abilities of pigs are greater than a dog. They can play video games with a joystick modified for snouts. They learned the games and demonstrated abstract representation.

My dear piggy friend, Petunia, loves belly rubs and ear scratches! The only time that Petunia didn't want me around her is when I wore my U of Texas Crocs in burnt orange! Really! She'd grunt and snort and bite at my feet till I finally would leave her enclosure. Maybe she was an A&M fan???? No, it just couldn't be! Heehee! Hook em, Petunia!

The look on MaryAnn's face is priceless!
How cute Bev...watching the video makes me want to have these kind of pigs...they're sweethearts! Too bad about the lawn...I didn't think these girls would do that but I guess pigs will be pigs no matter what breed they are. Enjoy your girls and thanks for sharing the video with us :)
