Catching Up....

Before I share today's "tail" with you...
I have to tell you that I had the best birthday of my entire life on Saturday.
I was queen for a day, and had a day to do all of my favorite things...
topped off with a trip to the city for a wonderful massage at a day spa...
and finished with a surprise dinner party that included 4 generations!
(And Tyler dancing on the table, but that's another tale!)
My family is just the best!
And Hubbs spoiled me in a way that I surely don't deserve!

Do you remember me telling you that Edith (our turkey girl) was found
on top of last year's fairy garden....
in the midst of all sorts of mischief?
Yes, she basically decimated what was left of last year's fairy garden.

I couldn't figure out what the allure was until this weekend,
when I found this....

Looks like our gal was hoping to raise a family in the fairy garden!

We scooped up those eggs and placed them into an incubator.
A friend of the family is going to raise any turkey chicks that hatch for us.
Those turkeys will be raised free range, and eventually become food for us next year.
We will not be raising them, however.
After all, once you give a turkey a name, you cannot eat it!

I thought you might enjoy a little glimpse at the twins' first outing.
The other kids are getting so mature, and so big!

Here's a "Pete" update:

As you can see, Pete is putting on weight.
His injury has gotten much better.
As it turns out, he was apparently bitten on his manhood by the pony
that used to share his grassless pasture....
the same pony that ran him off from the food.
We are hoping that eventually he gains control of his "parts" and can retract them again....
but that still remains to be seen.
At least Pete seems to be much happier,
and to me that is the best part!

Glad you had a terrific birthday.

Pete has the kindest eye and he looks very, very happy. I like how he strolled over just to see if you had a treat. He looks like a wonderful people horse.
