Am I Dreaming?

I think I may be in the middle of a very long and involved dream.
And if this is a dream, I don't want to wake up!

In this dream it is March 22nd and it is sunny and 75 degrees out.
Bird songs fill the air.
The grass is green.
The deciduous trees are in full blossom.

All of this is at least a month early.

So, I must be dreaming!

Seriously, though, for those of you who are in the North West and still held
in Winter's icy embrace....
I offer you a taste of Spring!

I noticed yesterday as I was hauling loads of mulch...

that as I passed the willow trees beside the chicken coops...

there was a rather loud hum...
almost the sound of electricity buzzing through high tension wires.

It was our bees!
They are happily buzzing around all of the blossoming trees
gathering nectar and getting a rather huge jump start on honey production.

You can see them in that last picture...
flying between the branches.

So, if this is not a dream, then I have to say...
this is the earliest in my entire life that Spring has arrived.

Ginger and MaryAnn's yard is outfitted with an umbrella and plenty of water.

It won't be long until these gals prefer to spend their afternoons in a puddle of water (mud)!

If you are still in the midst of winter like weather,
hang on...
I promise Spring is on its way.
And I must say it is glorious!

PS...In case I am dreaming, would you please be so kind
as to NOT wake me up!

Have a great weekend!!
We will be tending gardens this weekend and will be back Monday with more
Tails from the Farm!

Shhhhh..Don't want to wake you...Be careful with your gardening..There are to be some nights in the 30's next week..highs in the 50's...Rain this weekend..I've mowed the front yard twice...I can still wait for the rest of it...Maybe next week when it's 50...Whatever you do..Enjoy your weekend...It is truly a beautiful time of year even if it's a bit early..The Kentucky Derby people are upset because the tulips will be done before the derby..Oh well !!

AWWWW, gee whiz! Some people get al the luck! I see the bees...how amazing!
It was 84 degrees in my area of Massachusetts yesterday. It is expected to cool down to a mild 71 degrees today. What an odd spring. I'm not complaining though.

Lovely!! How many chickens do you keep? Do they get the run of the land? Do you let them out of coop each morning, or do they have freedom to come and go. My girls are getting to where they want to be OUT first thing in the morning. I like to wait til eggs have been laid and collected, but they are getting antsy! Love your pics. Enjoy your early Spring!!!

I was just thinking this morning while down at the barn slogging through the mud that I need to visit someones blog who is getting spring conditions already. And here you are with beautiful spring pictures. Thanks a bunch!! I needed that. We just had almost 8 inches of snow and no power for 17 hours. And we were the lucky ones, some still have no power since Wed. Yikes! I'm hoping the Northwest is close to Spring. The sun is out today. That's a good sign. And we're off to the Northwest Horse Expo for some equine fun and education. Hope your nice weather continues.

It is a wonderful, early spring. Feels more like summer here. It's been in the 80's...great chance to get a head start on some yard work.

It is like a dream, a very wonderful dream for those of us who love to garden and roam the countryside. I have already weeded my gardens and pruned all the rose bushes. Hurrah!
Thank you so much for your most welcome visit and very kind words about Bebe... I am so happy you enjoyed viewing her.
Blessings,
Penny
Yes it looks like you're not dreaming Bev...spring has sprung on your farm! Isn't this something...I have never seen spring this early either. I have family in south central Canada who has NO snow at all and the rest of my family is in British Columbia (western Canada) who's snow has gone but it's down VERY low on the mountains. Here in our part of Kansas the lilacs are starting to bloom and the fruit trees have finished. I've mowed the lawn inside the picket fence twice and this weekend I mowed the rest of the lawns and will have to do them again later this week. Thank goodness we've got the horses to take care of the pastures this year! I hope your weather is nice today so you can spend your time outside. :)
