Good Bye Spot and Dick!

Along side this weekend's duckling happiness came a little bitter-sweetness.
You see, two of Myrtle's triplets left for their new homes.
One of the two was Spot, my personal favorite.
This little fellow is so comical and so, so friendly.

By the time Spot left the farm, he had learned to love Ritz crackers,
and would stand at the fence begging for them.

When handed a Ritz, he would take it in his mouth,
and very quickly, it would disappear, as
he moved the entire cracker to the back of his mouth...
just the edges sticking out the corners of his mouth.

Pure joy he experienced with the taste of Ritz on his palate...

Good bye, sweet Spot....
I hope your new life is filled with lots of love and Ritz crackers...
we will miss you here at Bee Haven Acres.
Spot is lucky to have been adopted along with his brother Dick,
so he gets to take family with him to his new home.

It's very hard to say goodbye to these little critters.
But next Spring will bring more babies to the farm.
Until then, we will heap lots of lovin' on the older goats.
After all, they don't stay young forever,
and truly, we have enjoyed the best times...from birth til now.
We have been blessed to have experienced a couple of months of
adorable cuddliness!

  1. What a sweet face... I would not be very good at raising livestock.. it would be very hard to let anything go.

  2. Good Morning Bev!
Aww what a sweetheart...I can just imagine how hard it would be to see such a cute little fellow leave your farm. That's wonderful that the people are taking his brother too which should make their transition a bit easier. LOVE the video LOL...he sure does love his Ritz Crackers LOL! You've got some wonderful photo's to look back on and next year you get to start all over again. I hope you're having beautiful weather. It's to be 103 here today...not my cup of tea. Enjoy your day!
    Maura :)

  3. Spot looks hilarious with the crackers on the sides of his mouth! You are so fortunate to have all these animals to love - and they are lucky to have you!

  4. That is so cute! I've never tried giving my goats Ritz crackers, but I might have to as much as Spot is enjoying his. We really do get them at their sweetest.

  5. AWWW so cute! It must be so hard to see them go... Here's a hug for Mommie! ;)

  6. Spot it too cute! It's easy to see why you will miss him.

How do you market your goats for sale? Just wondering for future reference.

  7. That's the way I eat them...No crumbs !! Always sad to say good-bye. :(

  8. I always like to have two go together. It makes the transition so much easier for everyone involved. I love the shot of the disappearing Ritz.

  9. I think I'm going to cry. I just get too attached. Those are just the cutest little faces. Smooochie!! Debi

  10. He is so cute! I get attached to animals quickly and would've had a hard time letting Spot go! I hope he has a good home with lots of loving and Ritz crackers too!

  11. Hi Bev,
I'm catching up with all your posts. Spot is so cute and boy you can tell he loves those crackers. I can't imagine doing all the work you do everyday on the farm with just one day off a week. But I guess it's not work when you love what you do. Your blog always gives a smile to my face and I enjoy "working" the farm with you.

We welcome your questions and comments. Questions very often become the subject of a later blog post....so keep those questions coming!! I read each and every comment...they are often the highlight of my day! Thanks for stopping by and visiting with us.....
