A Strange Work Crew

This past Saturday was a concentrated work day on the farm.
With the help of a couple of our "kids", we accomplished
a lot of spring tasks....
mulching flower beds with tanbark,
mulching strawberry patch (between the rows).
planting 5 trees,
planting 2 rosebushes,
dragging large logs out of the woods
(to make a cross country eventing course for Becky)
were among the big jobs we finished.

Most of the afternoon was spent at the house,
spreading tanbark.

Of course Tyler was there to help....
Oh my, what a mess!

as were the turkeys....

These crazy birds just seem to love Tyler!

Maddie supervised the work crew and
doubled as babysitter.

The turkeys attracted the guineas, too.

Now, what you might not know is exactly how far
the house is from the turkey pen.
(about a third of a mile)
It is also not a straight line from one to the other,
but quite a round-about path with lots of woods in the middle.
Somehow, the turkeys knew where to find us.

At the end of the day, we had to parade them back to their house, again.
It's all in a typical day here on the farm!

So, I ask you....
is there anything cuter than a filthy little boy???

Needless to say, Tyler was taken in the house
and given his "tubby" when we finished.

How many little ones can say that they spent the day
with a bunch of turkeys?

I've never had turkeys, so I just love hearing you talk about them. They seem more friendly than I've heard anyone else mention. He's so cute with his messy face!

Tyler looks so adorable. I do have a soft spot for little boys, I had 3 of my own.

Sounds like you got a lot done. I love it when the whole family pitches in to get the outside jobs done.

Have a great week. Cindy

What a fortunate little boy, for two reasons (of many), he gets the freedom to play in dirt! and all in the midst of his friends....the animals! Lucky boy!
