In Need of a Makeover!

Sadly, the farm and most of its inhabitants
are looking a little rough these days.
Winter has taken its toll.

From brown, muddy pastures....
in need of re-seeding.

Piles of stones left from snowplows...
in need of a clean-up.

To molting chickens....
only time will take care of this.
(I have to tell you...some days I feel like I look like this, too!)

Filthy Bigs....

and Littles, too....
(These boys will get a shave as soon as the weather warms up.)

Dogs in need of grooming....

Turkeys whose molted tail feathers are starting to grow back....

Even one of our signs is in need of a makeover.

Boy, do we have our work cut out!
Maybe this time I need to paint a metal sign!

This is the kind of work I have waited months to do...
I can hardly wait to get started!

It's very soon "Makeover Time" at Bee Haven Acres.
I promise you after that I will take you on a video tour.

Goodness gracious, your chicken looks like she got caught in a fan!! How long does it take for them to "shed" the old and get some new pretty feathers?? No wonder they stop laying when they're molting!!
I'm just happy it's shedding blade weather... well, not quite, but the hair on my horse is starting to shed! YAY~ Spring is on it's way.

Outdoor chores are the best-and springtime chores-wonderful!! Don't even mind them after a long winter! We here in Maine are a long ways from outdoor chores like this!! Too much snow to describe!! Enjoy!! Have a great day!!

Isn't it nice that you don't need a makeover as well :)

Oh, but I do! As far as the chickens go....I am not sure how long it takes for the molt to be over, but it is many weeks until they are beautiful again. I will have to research this!

Oh I soooo envy you,,,,we are still covered in snow out here....but on the 'brite' side...the sun is out shining...finally!
And my feeders are crowded with hungry birds, each josteling for a spot at the 3 feeders....maybe I should just open the container of bird seed & let them enjoy! lol!
