Needing Green

Green is my favorite color.
And yet.... it has been far too long since I have seen any green,
or smelled any green.
Green is a color that I think you can even hear.
You certainly can taste it!

My world right now is grey...
shades of black and white,
with a little greyish brown.
It has been this way for a little too long now.

I fear that even I am turning shades of grey myself.

Time for a little taste of Spring,
don't you think???

Rather than post another wintry story,
I will share with you a bit of sunshine and Springtime...
a bit of green to see and smell and taste.
Dip into your memory banks for the smell and taste that goes along
with these images....

With Spring comes new life to the farm...

And remember,
it won't be long before our grey world is replaced by one of green
and vibrant colors.

  5. I am with you on the gray thing, I think my hair is feeling it too. Gotta' grab some hair color and go to work.

I tell you, you have some awesome photos for getting me in the mood for spring. The robin eggs, what a lovely color.

Ah... I am more relaxed now, I can handle the snow that is coming tonight. Will have to return tomorrow to see these photos again and keep on till spring does appear.

  6. What a wonderful idea. I think I just might have to go thru some of mine and get started planning what flowers to put where. What to divide up and what to move around. That should do the trick. What kind of eggs where at the end in the grass? Did you ever see the parents around? Thanks for the encouragement. Lisa

  9. What a delightful post! The pictures are enough to give me spring fever! The strawberry made my mouth water. February is going fast, then it will be March and we will be seeing signs of spring. If it helps, I just saw some of my daffodils pushing through the frozen ground along the house! Spring will be here before we know it!

  10. All those shades of white and grey make us appreciate the green so much more. I love when the crocus poke up through the snow. All of those colors just waiting.

  15. Bev,
Did you know that the color green can also be picked up by your ears? I know, because I heard it just last night! The weather yesterday was cold and windy, but the sun was out all day. then at around 6:30 it started to rain. A slow steady rain shower that lasted most of the night. I went out side with Daisy to walk around the yard. The tempretures were coming up and the I heard it! One Spring Peeper calling for a mate!! He keeped up for most of the night and I could hear the green of spring in his call and felt the brush of a summer breeze in it too!!
Its coming!!! I know it is!!!

  17. Beverly I needed that...this has been a long hard winter for many of us and I think we all crave some green about now. BEAUTIFUL photo's! Is that a fainting goat on the ground with stiff legs?? Also what kind of goats do you have? We are thinking of getting a couple but I'd like a small breed. Yours are adorable! I hope you get to see a bit more green this weekend. Enjoy!
