P U !!!

Well, it's that time of year again.
Back to school, you ask?
No.....back to rut!

The bucks are preparing themselves for mating season.
They have been spending the last several days getting
themselves as attractive as they can...

that is they are once again using their special after shave....
goat urine!

They spray the backs of their front legs, their necks, faces and beards
with a very foul smelling, musky urine...
all designed to drive the does wild!

MmmmmMmmmm, that smell....
a girl can hardly resist it!

Even dear little Fred is stinking to high heaven!
He's not responsible, though.
He is smelly from rubbing against his odiferous buddies.

Here's what Tyler thinks of the smell....

Peeeee U!!

Oh my goodness. This is my first rut (well not MINE-but our buckling's). I was feeding the him overgrown beans last night and he jumped up on the fence and I reached down and scratched his ears and top of his head and then his chin and came away sticky. Baby Tyler, I agree, SO GROSS.

Oh my gosh! Our boys haven't started that yet. I'm sure in the next few weeks we should start smelling the smell. Poor Edward is a wether in with the bucks. He has never done this. What a shocker for him. I can just here him, "Oh man, what's your problem? Why do you do that?" Wishing breezes your way. ;)

lol. Love Tyler's expression. That is how my face would look if I smelled the odor. I honestly didn't know that the goats peed on themselves on purpose.

Little guy, Fred is the best!
